Masses of Compact (Neutron) Stars with Distinguished Cores

چکیده
In this paper, the impact of core mass on compact/neutron-star mass-radius relation is studied. Besides mass, parameterized by its radius and surface pressure, which supports outside one-component Standard Model (SM) matter. The may accommodate SM matter with unspecified (or poorly known) equation-of-state or several components, e.g., consisting admixtures Dark Matter and/or Mirror World etc. beyond SM. Thus, admissible range masses radii compact stars can be considerably extended.

On the masses of neutron stars
We analyze the currently available observations of X-ray binaries in a consistent way, to re-determine the masses of the neutron stars in these systems. In particular, our attention is focussed on a realistic and consistent assessment of observational uncertainties and sources of systematic error. Confidence limits for these new mass estimates are generally less optimistic than previously assum...
متن کاملMeasuring the Masses of Neutron Stars
Until a few years ago the common understanding was that neutron stars, the compact remnants of massive stars, have a canonical mass of about 1.4 MA. Recent observations with VLT/UVES support the view that the neutron stars in high-mass X-ray binaries display a relatively large spread in mass, ranging from the theoretical lower mass limit of 1 MA up to over 2 MA. Such a mass distribution provide...
متن کاملCooling of Neutron Stars with Color Superconducting Quark Cores
We show that within a recently developed nonlocal, chiral quark model the critical densities for a phase transition to color superconducting quark matter under neutron star conditions can be low enough that these phases occur in compact star configurations with masses below 1.4 M⊙. We study the cooling of these objects in isolation for different values of the gravitational mass and thus differe...
متن کاملCooling of Neutron Stars with Color Superconducting Quark Cores
We show that within a recently developed nonlocal chiral quark model the critical density for a phase transition to color superconducting quark matter under neutron star conditions can be low enough for these phases to occur in compact star configurations with masses below 1.3 M⊙. We study the cooling of these objects in isolation for different values of the gravitational mass and argue that, i...
متن کاملNucleation of quark matter in neutron stars cores
We consider the general conditions of quark droplets formation in high density neutron matter. The growth of the quark bubble (assumed to contain a sufficiently large number of particles) can be described by means of a Fokker-Planck equation. The dynamics of the nucleation essentially depends on the physical properties of the medium it takes place. The conditions for quark bubble formation are ...
